Character

Region

Campania

2000 years ago the Romans in Campania recognised the potential of the area surrounding Mount Vesuvius on the Tyrrhenian coast: The fertile volcanic soils, rich in minerals, calcium carbonate and cinder, provide conditions for grapevines to thrive like nowhere else. The Mediterranean climate, influenced by the proximity to the sea, the protection of the mountains and sufficient natural irrigation from the surrounding hills, gives rise to ideal circumstances for winegrowing. Predominantly, vine types such as the white Fiano and Greco as well as the red Aglianico are cultivated here. Aglianico has existed here since Roman times: Today, connoisseurs and wine producers are rediscovering the ancient vine. And with good reason: The wines are full-bodied, aromatic, dense and complex, many-faceted and elegant.
