Character

This particularly harmonious and deep-coloured wine is fruity, long-lasting and rich. An intense bouquet of blackberries and blueberries, with some cherry and roast aromas and a hint of coffee. Soft tannins, harmonious fruit, roasted notes and a lengthy finish round off the flavour on the palate.

Das Burgenland ist hervorragend für den Weinbau geeignet, geografisch wie klimatisch. Die Reben profitieren von heissen, trockenen Sommern mit den höchsten Temperaturen Österreichs, ausgeglichen von der riesigen Wasserfläche des Neusiedlersees. Zusammen mit dem sonnigen Herbst ergibt dies eine sehr lange Vegetationsperiode und am Ende perfekt reife Trauben. Die kargen Schotterböden, auf denen die Reben wachsen, speichern einerseits die Sonne und wärmen die Pflanzen, andererseits sorgen sie für samtige Tannine im Wein.

The Sattler Winery is located in the Burgenland municipality of Tadten. Already as a little boy Erich Sattler played in the vineyards and was confronted with nature’s frank honesty at an early age. This left a mark on him. After attending the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and extensively learning the theory, he dedicated himself to the practice. He has been successfully running the Sattler winery since 2000 in accordance with his personal conviction: Erich Sattler manufactures wines the way he loves and drinks them himself.
