This well-balanced and long-lasting ruby-red wine reveals attractive purple reflections in the glass. It is highly elegant with fine, silky tannins, a harmonious structure, generous fruit and an unmistakable character. Intense aromas of cassis and redcurrant dominate the nose, while on the palate it is a substantial wine and reveals notes of vanilla and toast – the inclusion of a little Petit Verdot lends it an additional complexity. A concentrated wine with an intense character. Alpha M can be enjoyed straight away or laid down for 20 years.

Central Valley Region

Das Central Valley ist – was die Weinmenge betrifft – eines der wichtigsten und grössten Weinbaugebiete Südamerikas. Es erstreckt sich von den Küstenebenen des westlichen Colchagua bis hin zu den Andenausläufern von Puente Alto und ist in die Subregionen Colchagua und Cachapoal unterteilt. Auf seinen 400 Kilometern Länge bietet es eine grosse klimatische Vielfalt und sehr unterschiedliche Böden, was in einem enormen Angebot von Weinen, von traditionell chilenischen bis hin zu modischen Weinen im Bordeaux-Stil, resultiert. Auf jeden Fall spielt Chiles Star-Traube Carmenere hier die Hauptrolle. In den kühleren Regionen experimentieren Winzer aber zunehmend auch mit Rebsorten wie Viognier, Riesling und sogar Gewürztraminer.
