Region

Emilia-Romagna

Producer/Brand

Leonardo da Vinci

500 YEARS OF WINE EXPERTISE: for half a millennium, the world has known Leonardo da Vinci as a genius inventor and artist. Less well known is the fact that Leonardo came from a family of winegrowers based in the Tuscan village of Vinci and that wine was his great passion. Villa Da Vinci still exists to this day, set amid beautiful vineyards – the estate where Leonardo grew up in the 16th century and where his family cultivated vines as long as 500 years ago. His life here was a formative influence: Leonardo dedicated his brilliant mind to researching viticulture and developing new methods so as to constantly improve the quality of the wines. He set down his findings in letters and sketches. Today, the wines of Cantina Leonardo da Vinci are produced according to the traditional Metodo Leonardo® – from cultivation through to vinification.
