Character

A very pale, light, fresh and fruity white wine whose subtle flower bouquet of lime blossom and violets with a touch of pear and quince is typical of this grape variety. On the palate it is dry, fresh and very harmonious. Here, the aromas are rounded off with a touch of citrus.

Region

Piemont

The North-Western Italian Piedmont (“at the feet of the mountains”) is located in the Southern foothills of the Alps. The climatic conditions are challenging: Except for the area around Pianura padana, the region here is significantly cooler than the rest of Italy. Short, dry summers give way to foggy autumns and very cold winters. This is a challenge that Piedmont’s winegrowers have mastered successfully: Alongside Tuscany, Piedmont produces most of Italy’s premium wines, with unmistakeably full-bodied and many-faceted aromas resulting from these particular climatic conditions. The most common vine type is the red Barbera vine, followed by the Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, from which the world-renowned Barolo is pressed. The vines thrive at altitudes of 150 to 400 m a.s.l. on various soils – from clayish for a multi-layer bouquet to calcareous sandy soils that facilitate a strong structure in the wine.
